About Lhyfe Buléon
Lhyfe will produce up to two tonnes of green and renewable hydrogen per day, or up to 575 tonnes per year, at its site in Buléon (Morbihan), near the VSB Energies Nouvelles wind farm. The site’s central location will enable Lhyfe to efficiently supply customers throughout the Brittany region, promoting a short supply chain approach.
Lhyfe Bretagne is a key player in the VHyGO initiative, also known as the Great West Hydrogen Valley. Supported by local public and private stakeholders, this initiative aims to establish the first supraregional infrastructure for producing and distributing green hydrogen in western France. The goal is to democratize this new energy source and contribute to the decarbonization of industry and transportation.
As part of the VHyGO initiative, Lhyfe Bretagne will install two HyGO filling stations in the Lorient urban area. One station will be located at the Lorient bus depot, and the other on the left bank of the river Scorff for maritime use. Eventually, 19 buses and two passenger transport boats, known as Transrades, could be powered by this clean, local energy in the Lorient conurbation. These hydrogen-powered Transrades will be the first of their kind in France.
